Patek Philippe introduced some white dial versions for their Nautilus collection during the BaselWorld 2012 exhibition.
The dial of the 5711 is a beautiful black or white, While hardly original, I can't hate on the choice at all – it looks great. The case, a slightly larger version of the one originally designed by Gérald Genta, measures 40 mm in diameter by 8.30 mm thick (43 mm including the hinges). The steel bezel (fixed), case and bracelet feature a mixture of brushed and polished surfaces; the crown is fully polished and emblazoned with the Patek Phlippe cross. Flat sapphire glass, sapphire case back and screw down crown. Water-resistant is 120 meters. Stainless steel bracelet with Nautilus fold-over clasp. The movement is the self-winding in-house manufactured caliber 324 SC, which powers hours, minutes, central sweep seconds and the date (at 3 o’clock). The movement features 213 parts, 29 jewels, 6 bridges, a Gyromax balance, a 45-hour power reserve and a frequency of 4Hz. The 5711 is a 40 mm case that is waterproof to a very respectable 120 meters.
Like the Royal Oak or Submariner, the Nautilus is an iconic sports watch that has stood the test of time. Accordingly, Patek could have easily decided to keep selling the Jumbo, in just the blue dial, for many years to come.

It’s kinda hard to grab good pics of this blue and black tinted dial. The color changes a lot depending on how the light hits it and the best is to see it live because these pics honestly don’t do it justice all the way. Oh well, they’re the best I can do and I’m sure they help you guys figure out good quality from poor quality fake watches out there. The dial is as simple as they get, clean and vintage looks but such a good statement of quality.
The seconds hand has a nice sweep and that only means that the movement is automatic. It’s a self-winding Japanese automatic movement that keeps time well and precise. Date is easy to set and clicks nicely when it turns. It’s a good quality movement in a good combo that’s for sure.
This baby is really expensive as an original going for more than $19k. That’s way to much than what I could even imagine spending on a watch at this point but hey, we’re talking about the fake Patek Nautilus here, one of the most unique and one of Patek’s trade marks so I’m not expecting it to come cheap at all. Not very popular either so you won’t meet many connoisseurs out there. Clearly won’t be seeing a ton of $20k watches on a daily basis on other people’s hands so I think that this one will pass just fine.
